5 Tips to Sun Protect your Skin this Summer!

Tips to protect skin in summer

Summer’s knocking on our doors and we all love the outdoors – going to the park, the family picnics, hitting the beach and more… But are you and your skin ready for the sun? Here’s our mantra of five simple tips to help you enjoy this summer without the simmer –

Water, water and more water!

Yes! There are no two ways about it. The sun and the heat dehydrate, and you must replenish by drinking more and more water.  Add lemonade, fresh juice, coconut water and other drinks to your diet. (We’re sorry, but alcohol does not count!)

Hmmm… what about your face? It is easily the most exposed body part. Wouldn’t it be great to directly quench your face’s thirst? Use pure Hyaluronic serum to help your skin absorb lost moisture content. Not only is Hyaluronic serum natural, but it works wonders on all skin types and has zero side effects. It dives deep into your skin and works from within to plump up and smoothen the dryness away.

Block that Sun!

Using a good sunscreen is key to protecting your skin whenever you step out. Use a sunscreen or moisturizer with SPF 15 + (anything below that is no good, really). If you are swimming or tend to sweat a lot, carry your sunscreen along and re-apply regularly.

The ‘un’-happy hours!

Eleven to two during the day is the worst time to be outdoors. Even if it feels good, this is when the sun’s harsh, drying and scorching effect is at its peak. So if you can, stay indoors during these hours. If you must go out, load yourself with sunscreen, hats, sunglasses and anything else that can cover you up!

Eyes, eyes baby!

Protect your eyes and sensitive surrounding skin with good UV protection sunglasses. Avoid looking directly at the sun.

Use this excuse to go buy yourself a new pair of trendy aviators (mirrored or otherwise) or cat-eyes that are quite in this season. Just make sure they offer 100% UV protection.

Fruity Delight

Watermelon, strawberries, mangoes, pineapple, kiwi, oranges, peaches – you’re spoilt for choice! Splurge on your favourite fruits to keep both your body and skin happy. A rich source of antioxidants, vitamins, enzymes and fibre content, fruits are your skin’s best friends for the summers.

Come summer, these five simple tips to protect your skin from the sun let you enjoy the sunshine in its full glory. So go out and have a blast, but make sure your skin loves you too!
