It’s finally here! The long awaited new eye-cream by Pestle & Mortar has hit the shelves amongst a flurry of anticipatory excitement. Aptly named Recover, the Pestle & Mortar eye-cream is a virtual powerhouse of goodness for the skin around the eye area…………but why?
Well, first things first. Why do we need to invest in a separate eye cream anyway? Is it really necessary to add the expense of another product to our skincare regime? What’s the difference between eye- cream and moisturizer? The answer is simple. The skin on your face is not the same as the skin around your eyes. At all.
The Skin around the Eye needs Intensive Care
Basically, the skin around our eyes is thinner and more fragile than skin elsewhere. This means that it is less able to retain moisture. As we all know, lack of moisture = dreaded ageing effects. The delicate area around the eyes is one of the first places to show visible signs of ageing. Dark circles, puffiness, and wrinkles around the eyes make a person look older than their true age. Thin skin, compromised blood flow, and environmental factors also contribute to visible and undesired changes in this region.
Caring for the skin around the eyes is a delicate process and intensive care is a must. Because it is thinner, it not only tends to be the first place to show signs of aging, but is also more sensitive than the rest of the skin. Therefore, extra care needs to be taken when choosing a skincare product for this area. Products that contain gentle, non-irritating compounds that reduce the appearance of wrinkles, along with a wide range of vitamins, antioxidants, and skin-plumping substances are ideal choices.
What’s so special about Recover?
First things first. The active ingredient in Pestle & Mortar’s new eye-cream, Palmitoyl tripeptide-5 is, apart from being a tongue-twister, a powerful peptide which stimulates collagen production from the inside-out, making it a super-effective anti-ageing tool. It can mimic cellular communication systems and
tell cells what to do. This ingredient is intelligent. We love it and your eyes will too.
Packed with a host of other beneficial ingredients including Irish moss extract, passionfruit extract, coffee bean extract and beta-carotene, Recover hydrates, protects, smooths, soothes and restores the skin around the eye area. Fine lines are diminished, puffiness is counteracted and dark circles are reduced. The lightweight formulation is easily absorbed into the skin ensuring fast and visible results.
It’s time to stop caking on the concealer. Instead, invest in an effective eye-cream and look at lifestyle choices. Your eyes will thank you for it.
Apart from adding an eye-cream to my skincare regime, what else can I do?
If the eyes are the window to the soul, then all of us have woken up at some stage to souls that are dark, puffy, dehydrated and wrinkled. It’s not a nice feeling and it’s not a good look. What lifestyle choices do we need to make to have and maintain shiny new double- glazed windows?
Sleep. Drink water – at least 2 litres per day. Eat well – lots of fruit and veg. Exercise. De-stress. Breathe. Avoid alcohol, salt and caffeine. If it’s December and party season is unavoidable, just try your best with all of the above but be sure to cleanse, moisturize and eyesturize!
